CASE STUDY - CORPORATE / BUSINESS PORTRAITS
Back in March I received an email from a contact who I hadn't spoken to in eight years!! Kath had moved on to MDS and was looking at updating the exec team corporate portraits, for the company website, press releases and general marketing. Perfect, just my thing.
We set a date for sometime in April and I was booked in for half a day to produce a series of images of 6 members of the exec team. I had half an hour with each person, which was great. Kath had booked the time out of each persons diary so they knew what was happening and could commit the time to the shoot.
I arrived at the offices in Warrington, Cheshire at around 8.15am, nice and early ready to shoot at around 9.30.
We had a brew and a bit of a catch up, it had been a while!!
Meeting rooms and board rooms had been booked out for the whole morning which means we could set kit up and leave it. The two rooms where quite different and gave me the oppurtunity to create four setups in all and move each person between each scene.
Once setup and the usual tests had been done we set to. I had quite a bit of time with each person which created a much more relaxed, less frenetic atmosphere. I don't mind working at speed but it is nice to slow the pace down and really think, concentrate and get to know the subject. Kath spent the whole shoot with me and in doing so we created good conversation between us all. This was great as Kath knew the exec's much better than myself.
The morning flew by and we produced some lovely images which I and my client are very pleased with.
What really stands out for this shoot is the client was willing to commit time and be well organised before hand. This is vital in producing a varied selection of interesting portraits.
