Villa La Roche, Paris, France – Le Corbusier

I have just a had a superb few days in Paris, France. One of the highlights was a visit to Villa La Roche, designed by Le Corbusier and built between 1923 and 1925. This architectural masterpeiece was designed for Raoul La Roche as a combined house and art gallery. It is now open to the public as part of the Fondation Le Corbusier. One of our party commented on how it was like a Grand Design albeit from 1923!!. It is a beautiful piece of work set in a really tight location. It is open airy and a very calm, contemplative space. I will not waffle anymore as there are better descriptions HERE (in French).

Here is my photography of the building

  1. As always….. superb photos that capture the essence of the building and its concepts

We went to see this when I was at Poly way back in the mid 1970′s

Try and find some contemporary photos of the outside with what at the time was a modern car …. such a contrast
