The next image in the series of 10PEOPLE is of architect Karl Zaldats of MRA Architects based in Longridge, Lancashire.

I have know Karl for a few years now, I was introduced to him by Graphic Designer Steven Carlin back in 2009

We first met to discuss photography for MRA architects new website which Steven was designing. It was a refreshing an inspirational meeting. We discussed at length my architectural photography together with how it would fit in to the construct of their website. We also discussed in depth, architecture in general and how it relates to photography and design. My portfolio of photography was admired by Karl who could see what I was getting at.

For this photography session I met with Karl at his house in Lancashire. All very nice and relaxed, we tried different lighting and setups. I had a clear idea that I wanted to use one of his chairs, as it had an architectural feel. My idea was to have Karl sat on the floor with the chair to one side almost looking like a tower block. We tried many different shots some of Karl looking happy, looking at the camera, but eventually went with the one where he looks thoughtful. It has to be said that Karl was a superb subject, did exactly what I asked and trusted me. I do hope he likes the shot.

Here are a few of the outtakes

What a mad day. Two portrait session for my project in one day. I haven’t had chance to do anything on my project for weeks then two come along in the same day.

I met architect Karl Zaldats of MRA architects at his house in Lancashire for a portrait session this morning. All very nice an relaxed we tried different lighting and setups, had a few cups of tea and got the shots in the bag very quickly. It has to be said that Karl was a superb subject, did exactly what I asked and trusted me.

This afternoon I met Michael Taylor from Insider Magazine at Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers, if you dont already know Michael is a huge Rovers fan. Anyway I got there an hour early to suss out what I was going to do, the staff at Rovers have been excellent and very accomodating even though we re-arranged the shoot only days before, thanks Jennifer you are a star. The shoot took around three quarters of an hour, as with Karl earlier, Michael was superb and was happy for me to do what I wanted.

The results of both shoots are great, again, it is all about having the time and being very organised, and being left to get on with it. Thanks guys.

Only a few more to photograph for my project then all will be revealed.

You may remember early last year I had a remarkable portfolio visit with architect Karl Zaldats of Michael Rayner Associates Chartered Architects. It was a refreshing an inspirational meeting. We discussed at length my architectural photography together with how it would fit in to the construct of their website. We also discussed in depth, architecture in general and how it relates to photography and design.

Anyway as a result of that meeting, Karl commissioned me to photograph various buildings around Lancashire that they had worked on. They ranged from beautiful houses in the Ribble Valley to health, sports and equine facilities. Karl basically told me to go and do my own thing, no interference, just photograph them as I saw them.

I spent a number of months working on the project, the photography was finally finished in July. The web designers took until Feb this year before everything was up and running.

Here are a few photographs from one of the largest projects, the Crowwood leisure, sports, health and equine centre in Pennine Lancashire.

Comments are more than welcome.

Today saw the launch of the MRA architect website. MRA architects are an architecture practice in Longridge, Lancashire.

My photographic involvement with the MRA website started around 12 months ago with a meeting with Karl Zaldats the Director of MRA and website designer Steven Carlin, we had a superb meeting which I did rave about at the time, you can read it here.

I spent the next 3-4 months photographing various MRA projects in and around Lancashire. They ranged from beautiful houses in the Ribble Valley to health, sports and equine facilities.

Karl was interested in my particular style of photography and my treatment of the photographs. It was very refreshing to be left to do my own thing, no interference, just photograph them as I saw them

At the launch there where around 15 invited guests. We had food and drinks and Karl explained the concept around the website, then to my surprise I was asked to switch on the website, I have never had such an honour, I was flattered.

The website looks great, easy to use nice and clean with plenty of info on commissioning an architect

I would appreciate it if you would take a look

http://www.mraarchitects.co.uk/

Here are some of my photographs that have been used on the site.

I was introduced to architect Karl Zaldats at Michael Rayner Associates Chartered Architects, by Graphic Designer Steven Carlin.

All three of us met this afternoon to discuss photography for Michael Rayner Associates new website which Steven is designing. What a refreshing an inspiarional meeting it was to. We discussed at length my architectural photography together with how it would fit in to the construct of their website. We also discussed in depth, architecture in general and how it relates to photography and design.

It was so wonderful to be around people with similar ideas and visions. My portfolio of photography was admired by Karl who could see what I was getting at.

We are going to be working on the website over the next few weeks so I will keep you posted on the progress.

Here is a photograph of the Imperial War Museum North, Salford, Manchester which forms part of my architectural portfolio
