Santiago Calatrava's Alamillo Bridge in Seville Spain

October 26th, 2009

I have just spent a week in Seville and on my list of must sees was The Alamillo Bridge, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava. Wow, fantastic structure, reminded my of a predatory insect even though the original concept was of a running figure. The supporting concrete pylon is at an angle 58 degrees and is 142 metres high.  It was commissioned for the Expo ‘92 by the Andalusian regional government.

Here are four shots of the bridge. I have more images of Seville that I will post up at a later date. Hope you like them, feel free to comment.
