Hopefully this week I will get around to photographing the Midland Hotel in Morecambe, Lancashire
The Art Deco period of architecture is my favourite architectural era (along with brutalism), the vision of the future, clean modern, white, unfussy, utopian, this is how we where all going to live.
As a child I remember visiting Morecambe, Lancashire and seeing the hotel and thinking it looked so modern (albeit in a state of disrepair). Unfortunately I have not seen it since its renovation by Urban Splash.
Lets hope we get a nice day towards the end of the week when I can at least make a start visually exploring this building.
