Did a really nice corporate gig last night at The Hard Rock Cafe in Manchester. I got a call from Tina the Director of Public Relations at Ryman Ltd the stationers. They were having their New Year party at the Hard Rock Cafe and needed some to photograph the event. The Chairman Theo Phaphitis from Dragons Den would be attending and we needed to get photographs of him with the staff and photographs of everyone enjoying themselves
It was very well organised, Tina shadowed me all evening taking captions and helping out wherever possible. It made the whole experience very enjoyable and efficient.
Theo was superb with the staff, loads of people wanted their photographs with him and he was happy to oblige, I have to say he was genuinely enjoying the event.
Lets hope there are more jobs this well organised in the future.
One of my London clients asked for a group photograph of their whole team, just thought I would share it with you . I think it works. What do you think?
Just spent best parts of a week in Rome. I have been before but what still amazes me the scale of things and most of this grand architectural stuff from the Colosseum to the Palatine was built without modern technology. Take the dome of the Pantheon, it is still after two thousand years the largest unreinforced concrete dome, this is amazing, it has survived wars, sackings uprisings etc etc and it still stands.
Even with modern architectural techniques I doubt that these ancient structures could be built easily (please correct me if I am wrong). Read More…
The Third & The Seventh from Alex Roman on Vimeo.
This short film by Alex Roman is superb it deals with architecture in a photographic sense. What is even more amazing is that it is entirley computer generated.
Stunning!!
I am sure you are all having fun in the snow. Well I think it is great but I am sick of snow scene photographs so here is my antidote. Off to the coast I went this weekend and discovered the new promenade architecture at Cleveleys of all places. Not a flake of snow in sight just beautiful blue skies with the fantastic low winter sun, I felt like I was abroad (apart from the bitter cold of course!!). I have not been to the prom at Cleveleys for a few years I was very pleasantly surprised, very modern, architectural and concrete (I love the stuff). What a contrast to the scenes of deep snow at home. Lancashire a county of contrasts and thats just the weather. Anyway enough of my ramblings here are some of the pictures I took. Oh by the way Happy New Year.
