Anyone who follows me on Facebook or Twitter will be in no doubt of my praise for the excellent service I have received from the Apple Store in Manchester.
Last week I took my laptop in for a repair at the Genius bar, it had been having a few issues where the screen would suddenly go black even on a full battery charge. Anyway to cut a long story short they told me that the battery was probably faulty and needed replacing and as my laptop was way out of warranty it would cost around £70. I told the guy that this battery was a replacement from when it was still under warranty, so he then said we will replace it for nothing. Great. The laptop was also sufferning from a bit of damage around the keyboard facsia, he said they could repair this for nothing as it was a fault. This was on Thursday evening, the next day I got a phone call around midday to say that the laptop was now ready. What good service.
Now my second story- bored yet!!!. I recently purchased a used iphone which was suffering a bit of cosmetic damage. I have had it a few weeks now and there have been a couple of incidents of it freezing after calls. I was digging about online and I discovered much to my luck that the phone was still under warranty. So I booked it into the genius bar in the hope of getting it sorted. I mentioned the software issues and the small crack on the back which I was interested in getting repaired. The guy just said ‘We’ll replace the phone’- how good is that, I now have a shiny phone, probably a refurb but it still looks and works better than the last one. Result
In my opinion it is worth paying extra for a product when you get that sort of aftercare.
