I received a phone call asking if I would be interested in the job at Manchester airport and after a bit of emailing back and forth for permissions etc I was all set.
I met Derrick terminal two arrivals at Manchester airport and after a brief intro and a chat about Derricks work I set to. We experimented with different locations and signage in and around the arrivals area, we also had permissions to use the skylink that links the terminal to the railway station etc. The shot used in the article was the skylink shot.
What I really enjoyed about this job was we had plenty of time and a great location to experiment and 'play' with different angles etc. Time makes a huge difference when shooting someone, if no one is rushing you can bounce ideas around 'play' and get a feel for a place and subject which all helps to create much better imagery. Let the job breathe, thats what I say.
